A patented innovation sprung from research

An adsorbent (not to be mistaken by an absorbent) is a material that collects or holds a substance on its surface rather than allowing it to penetrate deeply. An absorbent on the other hand, is a material that takes in a substance uniformly throughout its entire volume. The substance penetrates the material, filling its pores or integrating into its structure so an absorbent material works like a spunge and could not function as an air cleaner material.

Adsorbi specialise in capturing gaseous pollutants

Sustainability

Million of tonnes of adsorbents are produced every year to clean the air we breathe. The industry standard material used in gas filters in the air filtration industry is activated carbon, which has a high carbon footprint and negative environmental impact, as most of it is fossil-based and originates from stone-coal.

Adsorbi materials use wood-based cellulose as a starting material. Cellulose is a renewable material from that can be recycled. At Adsorbi, we work towards clean air using as little resources as possible. Our innovation has several times longer lifetime than the industry standards, meaning we extend the lifetime of resources for clean air.
